Our Calling !

Matthew 4: 18

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers-Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew-throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. 19 Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!" 20 And they left their nets at once and followed him. 21 A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too. 22 They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.

Matthew 9:9

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector's booth. "Follow me and be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.

Reading these scriptures, we learned that Jesus is calling His disciples to:

Be alert

Fishermen left their nets and followed Jesus. Matthew left his station and followed Jesus. Be alert to the Lord's calling

Be Available

Jesus did not have to beg and plead for these early disciples to follow him.

Be Able

Be prepared - His disciples followed him. Jesus taught them. Christian training is vital.

In Matthew 28.16 - Jesus gave his disciples the Great Commission.

We learn from this commission that He is wanting us to:

Be Obedient

- GO Into All The World

Be Active

- FOLLOW Me, Go Into All The World

Be Ambitious

- Go Into all The WORLD - Make Disciples of ALL Nations

Matthew 28:16 -Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Reading these words from Jesus we have responded by saying "yes" to the Call. However, we need your support. Will you pray for us, and with us, for God's wisdom, direction, provision and protection ? Thank you !
